Public browsing

Public guides require no account. The site does not install advertising trackers or a visitor analytics script at launch. The hosting provider processes ordinary technical request information to deliver and protect the service. Search terms appear in the page URL and may be present in hosting request logs. Avoid entering private information in search.

Checklist notes

Checklist answers and notes remain in the current page’s browser memory. They are not sent to the Atlas server or saved in local storage. Reloading the page clears them. If you download a checklist, the resulting file is stored on your device under your control.

Private administration

Authorized administrators use a secure session cookie. Imported webmaster files and normalized observations are private, server-side records and are not displayed in public guides. Imports retain the source file and provenance for auditing. Administrators should upload only reports they are authorized to use and exclude unrelated personal information.
